Seafarers who hold a valid STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FP&FF) certificate are required to complete this refresher course every five years to demonstrate continued proficiency, as mandated by the STCW 2010 Manila Amendments (STCW Section A-VI/1 | Table A-VI/1-2).

  • You hold an expired or soon expiring STCW Basic Safety Training certificate.
  • You hold an expired or soon expiring STCW FP&FF certificate.
  • You hold an expired or soon expiring STCW FP&FF Updating / Refresher COP.

Important Notice:

Due to local regulations set by the Federal Maritime Authority (FMA) / Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) of the U.A.E., the STCW FP&FF Refresher training is conducted as a full two-day STCW FP&FF module

Instead of receiving a refresher certificate, candidates will be issued a new STCW BST FP&FF Certificate of Proficiency for the full course, as there is no separate refresher option in the U.A.E.
