IYT Small Powerboat & RIB Master

To receive your IYT Small Powerboat and RIB Master qualification, you will complete:

• Theory: 
  - A one-day intensive course covering essential topics such as safety, VHF operations, nautical terminology, basic navigation, and rules of the road.
• Practical: 
  - One day of hands-on training focused on boat handling, including berthing, maneuvering, and emergency procedures.
• Total course duration:
  - 2 days theory and practical training
• Training vessels:
  - 10-meter GC Marine 31 ZAHRA
  - 12-meter Silvercraft 38 GAVIOTA
  - Both vessels are equipped with Yamaha twin outboard engines
• Exams: 
  - Written IYT theory exam
  - Practical assessment as per IYT standards
  - Optional: Second exam for the FMA Small Boat Driving License 12m course completion certificate.

You will learn key essential techniques such as berthing, practical rope work, manoeuvring, steering by compass, man overboard procedures and more. Our detailed course syllabus is available upon request.

Entry Requirements:

• Minimum Age: 
  - 16 years
• Experience: 
  - None required
• Dual Certification: 
  - For dual certification with the MOEI/FMA Small Boat Driving License 12 meter, a valid U.A.E. Emirates ID is required.
   

This course is designed for beginners or as a refresher in the basics of seamanship for experienced boat owners and captains.
