FMA Small Boat Driving License 24 meter

To receive your FMA Boat Driving License 24 Meter Course Completion Certificate, the below listed training needs to be attended: 

• Theory: 
  - 4 full days or 6 evening classes. 
  - Comprehensive shore-based theory course.
  - Covers chart work, navigation, COLREGS, meteorology, safety at sea, tides and currents.  
  - Written theory exam. Once passed, valid for dual certification IYT International Bareboat Skipper.
• Practical: 
  - Three days of hands-on practical training incl. night cruise (approx. 21 hours). 
  - You will be assessed on your practical skills on the final practical day.
• Total course duration:
  - Intensive course 7 full days 
  - Combined evening / weekend course 9 days
  - 1 day IYT VHF SRC for candidates not holding a valid VHF SRC or GMDSS ROC or GOC
• Training vessel: 
  - Our 16 meter Sunseeker Manhattan 50 PEARL
• Outcome: 
  - Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to operate a vessel up to 24 m in U.A.E. coastal waters.
  - Dual certification with IYT International Bareboat Skipper.

Entry Requirements:

• Minimum Age: 
  - 18 years for obtaining the FMA/MOEI Small Boat Driving License (SBDL) 24m, whether for pleasure or commercial use.
• Prerequisite Certificates:
  - The applicant must hold a valid MOEI/FMA Small Boat Driving License (SBDL) 12 meter.
  - IYT Marine Communications VHF SRC or an equivalent certificate (*).
  - The IYT VHF SRC course required for the course can be taken separately. 
• For Commercial license, a valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate, including: 
  - STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
  - STCW Elementary First Aid (EFA)
  - STCW Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FP&FF)
  - STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)
• Dual Certification:
  - For dual certification with the IYT International Bareboat Skipper candidates must have logged 200 nautical miles on board a power vessel, with a minimum of 10 days at sea.
